Debate: How carbon projects can help us reach our 30x30 goals

Events all week
Dr. Kate Dodds (Chief Technical Officer at Corporate Carbon Group) is passionate about safeguarding ecosystem function amidst global change. In her work, Kate advocates for the implementation of nature-based emissions reduction and removals solutions which maximise carbon, environmental and social benefits. Kate, among a panel of interesting perspectives, will argue the case for carbon projects being key to achieving our 30x30 conservation goals touching on: *How private protected areas provide a mechanism to conserve natural and cultural heritage while conducting sustainable economic activities. *How Australian landholders can contribute to conservation targets while undertaking economic and social development activities. *Recent improvements to private protected areas. *How carbon projects can help us achieve important biodiversity outcomes. About Kate: At Corporate Carbon Kate implements nature-based emissions reduction and removals solutions which maximise carbon, environmental and social benefits. Kate holds a PhD in Marine ecology (Macquarie University), a MSc in Oceanography (University of Cape Town), a BSc (hons) in Ichthyology (Rhodes University) and a BSc in Environmental Science (University of Cape Town). *NB: We would value CAW's support in gathering some of the fellow speakers for the debate. *NB: This debate would be suitable as a live event, or a virtual or hybrid event. If it is a live event, we would require CAW's assistance in securing additional event speakers. If a virtual or hybrid, we could source some speaking talent. *NB: Also, if there is a similarly themed CAW event, we are happy to join it and put Kate forward as a speaker rather than host our own.
